THE EMMAUS WALK PRESENTS:

"Prophet or Son of God?" by Sir Lionel Luckhoo

[We have heard so much bad theologizing in in the papers, on TV, and all sorts of places today that Allah is the same as our God, which is nonsense, since the Bible describes no such entity as Allah, and leastwise will share divinity with any man-made god, and also heard that religions all teach the same things, fundamentally, and so they are all ways to God and heaven--which is also nonsense, as Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me." Our Lord Jesus made it plain enough. Accept or reject what He declared, you have no other options! This talk will clear up many fogs that surround the issue today whether Allah is the same as our God--something even Pres. Bush believed apparently, and which millions today think is true. It could not be farther from the truth, as Sir Lionel Luckhoo points out in this talk.--Ed.]

Many followers of the Islamic faith proclaim that Islam is very much like Christianity and that there is only one basic difference: Christianity claims Jesus is the Son of God; Islam says He was merely a prophet.

But this difference is so vital and so fundamental that it presents an insurmountable barrier. It is impossible to reconcile Christianity, wuith its basic tenets that Jesus is God and the Bible is the Word of God, with Islam, which states that Jesus is a prophet and nothing else, and that the Quran is the Word of God,.

In the Quran, Muhammad declares that Jesus was only an apostle to Israel. The religion of Islam says: Jesus lived. This Jesus was good. This Jesus was truthful. This Jesus was righteous. But this Jesus was not divine.

Now arises the question: Can a reader deduce from the Quran that Jesus is divine? Let's examine this question in two ways: What factors should be present to convince someone that Jesus is divine? Are those factors present in the Quran? If these factors are present, then a Muslim] reader must accept that Jesus is divine.

PROPHECY OF HIS BIRTH
