The millennial reign of Christ will be the time when God will set up His divine government to rule on earth for a thousand years--until all rebellion on earth has been conquered. He will sit upon His throne until all have submitted. Scripture declares, "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." (Psalm 110.1) And in the New Testament, we read what will happen before the end of this millennial period: "Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet." (I Corinthians 15:24-25)
This one thousand year reign of Christ will be the last age before the eternal perfect state, when God will again be all in all, as before Lucifer fell and rebellion started in the universe:
1. It will be a time of great spiritual blessing.
God's presence is going to touch us as never before.! The Word declares, "Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, a nd the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest...And the work of righteousness shall be peace...And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places..." (Isaiah 32:15-18)
2. It will be a time of great universal knowledge.
During Christ's reign every human being will know God, will see His glory and learn of Him. Scripture says, "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Habbakkuk 2:14)
3. It will be a time of great harmony and peace.
Here is what God revealed through the prophet Isaiah concerning Judah and Jerusalem: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains...and all nations shall be established in the top of the mountains...and all nations shall flow unto it...and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Isaiah 2:2-4)
4. It will be a time of great glory.
The power and glory of God will be manifested in a way unseen since Adam walked the earth. "And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain." (Isaiah 4:5-6)
5. It will be a time of great holiness.
During this millennium there will be purity, cleanliness and holiness. "In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass that...he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy..." (Isaiah 4:2-4)
6. It will be a time of great healing.
Bondage will be loosed and lives will be restored. To the captives, God declares, "Thy tacklings are loosed...And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick..." (Isaiah 33:23-24) Everywhere, people will be totally healed. "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing..." (Isaiah 35:5-6)
7. It will be a time of great deliverance.
Where demons had once ruled, there is now glorious victory. "...for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water; in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes." (Isaiah 35:6-7)
8. It will be a time of great prosperity.
Every person will experience God's abundance. "And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat of the fruit of them...They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them." (Isaiah 65:21-23)
What an incredible era this will be! In addition, during the millennial reign of Christ we will have a new body (I Corinthians 15:52), God will prolong life (Isaiah 65:20), there will be no night (Isaiah 30:26), the nature of animals will change (Isaiah 11:6), destroyed cities will be rebuilt (Isaiah 61:4-6)), God will rearrange land around Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:9-11)), King David will rule from Jerusalem again (Ezekiel 34:24; Hosea 3:4-5), the saints will rule under Christ (Psalm 149:5-9), and Jesus will rule the earth in righteousness (Isaiah 11:1-5; 40:10-11).
What happens at the end of the millennial reign of Christ? Satan will be loosed from his prison for a short period, then finally thrown into the lake of fire forever (Revelation 20:7-15; 21:1-7).
Jesus is coming soon! Will you allow the presence of the Lord to transform you and prepare you for that day?
Please read the Scripture references in context. I am praying that the prophetic Word of God will come alive in your life.--Benny Hinn (NO Copright Listed, Benny Hinn's article given in its entirety.)
