THE EMMAUS WALK PRESENTS:

"Someday"

Negro Spiritual Song Lyrics by Ronald Ginther

Someday, no mo' dyin'

Someday, no mo' cryin'

Someday...someday...

Der come a brand-new day!

Someday, no mo' lyin'

Someday, no mo' buyin'

Someday...someday...

Der come a brand-new day!

Someday, no mo' tryin'

Someday, no mo' sighin'

Someday...someday...

Der come a brand-new day!

Someday, no mo' "Why?"-in

Someday, no mo' "I"-in

Someday...someday...

Der come a brand-new day!

Music is universal. God is the Great Composer, the First Musician, the One who created Music and he put music in the soul of every human being, to be used in praise of Him. Negro spirituals are not the sole domain of the black people. They were not created in that spirit, which was the Spirit of Christ, which does not know Jew nor Greek, male or female. The Negro spirituals were given to enrich the whole of mankind, regardless of color, race, and creed. I was also engrossed by Negro spirituals from a young age. They come naturally to me--to write in the same idiom and, I believe, in the same spirit of the oppressed, poor, enslaved black people--as I have known slavery and poverty in my life too, and also rank discrimination (even though my skin is "white").--Ed.
